Edirne Municipality has launched an aid campaign to reach the citizens affected by the earthquake, the epicenter of which is Kahramanmaraş and felt in 10 provinces. At the same time, the mobile catering vehicle belonging to Edirne Municipality went to the earthquake area to offer hot soup and soft drinks to the citizens affected by the earthquake.
The 7.7 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Kahramanmaraş caused destruction in a very wide area. A team of 9 people affiliated to the Edirne Municipality Fire Brigade Directorate, which completed its preparations right after the earthquake, set out with 2 vehicles, one of which was a crash vehicle. At the same time, the mobile catering vehicle belonging to Edirne Municipality went to the earthquake area to offer hot soup and soft drinks to the citizens affected by the earthquake.
AID CAMPAIGN STARTED
Edirne Municipality also launched an aid campaign to reach the citizens affected by the earthquake. Edirne Mayor Recep Gürkan made his aid campaign on his social media accounts, “Come on, my Edirne. Now is the time to heal the wounds. You can deliver the materials on the need list to Atatürk Cultural Center and Municipality Conservatory to be delivered to our citizens affected by the earthquake, the epicenter of which is Kahramanmaraş and felt in 10 provinces.
Urgent needs list; new protective clothing, coat, sweater, fleece, underwear, gloves, beanie, blanket, tube dental heater, spare tube, diapers, baby food, sanitary napkin, coal stove, crackling mat, camping chair and table, disposable for showers towel, first aid kit, inside tent lighting and suitable batteries, large mattresses, mattress and sleeping bag.
Authorities also said that care should be taken to ensure that clothing and textile products are new in terms of hygiene and healthy use.
