CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who came together with both the deputies and the members of the Party Assembly in the CHP, received full authorization from the party members before the negotiations to determine the presidential candidate of the Nation Alliance. During the meetings, it was learned that Kılıçdaroğlu was also supported on the candidacy.
Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who will come together with the leaders of the Nation Alliance around the Six Tables on Thursday, March 2, first held a closed group meeting with the deputies before this meeting. It was stated that at the meeting held with the video-conference method, the deputies gave full authority to the Chairman Kılıçdaroğlu to nominate candidates. It was reported that none of the deputies who took the floor and made a statement to the contrary. It was also learned at the meeting that Kılıçdaroğlu received full support for candidacy and that another candidate could not be considered after this process. After the meeting, a statement was published with the signatures of CHP Group Deputy Chairmen Engin Altay, Özgür Özel and Engin Özkoç. In the statement, it was stated that “Our President Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has been unanimously authorized to take decisions on behalf of our group in all subsequent processes regarding the presidential election.” Immediately after this meeting, the CHP Party Assembly came together. In this meeting, it was stated that Kılıçdaroğlu’s Six Tables works were emphasized and supported for candidacy. In the statement made by CHP Spokesperson Faik Öztrak after the meeting, the following statements were made: “Our Party Assembly unanimously gave full authority to our Chairman, Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, to take decisions on behalf of our Party Assembly regarding the presidential election and in all the processes to be carried out from now on.”
It was noted that Kılıçdaroğlu, who took the floor after the support messages of the deputies and the members of the Party Assembly, said that they were not a “middle road party”. According to the information obtained, Kılıçdaroğlu said, “CHP is the party of the social democrats” and gave many messages both inside and outside the party, and also, “We are not the party of the Orta Yol Yolcuları party. If the left, social democrats have a maximum vote of 5 percent, 10, 20, 30, etc., these do not change our stance. Do we skip wild neoliberalism or forgive the gang of five just to look cute? No, we will fight to the bitter end against neoliberalism. CHP is a struggle party. It exists to fight delinquent gangs. I never take a step back in fighting them, I never stop. It was learned that I do not think of accepting the order that neoliberalism and their native patrons regard our people in order to look cute to someone.”
