Gaytancıoğlu: “Do not let our dear friends be victims of the chip crisis” | Thrace Politics | Thrace News | Thrace News | the future is here

CHP Edirne Deputy Assoc. Dr. Okan Gaytancıoğlu pointed out that there was a supply problem in microchips and passports, while the deadline for the registration of cats, dogs and ferrets by inserting microchips was 2 weeks, and requested an extension of the period for registration in the ‘Pet Registry System’ by one year.

“MINISTRY SHOULD EXTEND THE TIME FOR CHIPS AND PASSPORTS”
According to the regulation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, which was published in the Official Gazette on February 26, 2018, a time was given until December 31, 2022 for the identification of domestic cats, dogs and ferrets by microchipping. Those who do not have their animals chipped by this date will be fined 1634 TL within the scope of Law No. 5199. However, these days, as we approach the end of the deadline, there are supply problems in chips and passports.

Making a statement on the subject, CHP Edirne Deputy Assoc. Dr. Okan Gaytancıoğlu said, “The chip crisis also hit our dear friends. Chips and passports cannot be found in many places. Pet owners are afraid of facing punishment this time. While the price of everything has increased in recent years, the price of pet food has increased exponentially. Many animal lovers had to adopt their dear friends for economic reasons. While the cost of keeping pets has increased so much, animal lovers will not face penalties this time.

The ministry should extend the deadline for chips and passports. There is no need to worry our dear friends and owners. We all know the process going on in the world. What needs to be done is to extend the time without leaving it to the last day.”
