Republican People’s Party Edirne Deputy Assoc. Dr. Okan Gaytancıoğlu talked about the problems of the farmers in the earthquake zone and what needs to be done in the Parliament.

“We can’t bring back what we lost in the earthquake, we can take measures to avoid suffering like this again, but we must support our producers to heal some of the wounds caused by the earthquake,” said Assoc. Dr. Okan Gaytancıoğlu said in his speech:
“The earthquake left our producers, who were in a difficult situation, even more difficult. Our farmer has to go to his field, go down to his barn, go to his greenhouse, and get on his tractor. The Ministry of Agriculture should be with the farmers with all the power of the state, there is no other way. Damage assessments of farmers should be completed quickly, access to credit, required mortgage amounts should be reviewed, we should turn to production, we should use our strength to the end for the producer, the farmer should not think about his debt.
Now it’s planting time; Seeds, pesticides, fertilizers should not be worried about, agricultural equipment lost in the earthquake should be covered by the state, irrigation systems should be made operational, electricity debts should be rearranged, this list goes on and on. As long as there is a government that wants to do these things. This power next to the farmer comes on the morning of May 15.”
