Vecdi Gündoğdu, CHP Kırklareli Deputy, Member of the Parliamentary Environment Committee, spoke about the problems of tradesmen and craftsmen in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Gündoğdu made the following statements in his speech:
“The workplaces of our tradesmen and craftsmen have been closed for a long time due to the pandemic in the last two years, and then the workload and business volume have shrunk due to the effects of the epidemic, exorbitant hikes and high inflation. For this reason, our shopkeepers have been unable to pay their rent, taxes, BAĞ-KUR, SSK premiums and debts, and all the supports have been insufficient. The economic crisis, hourly hikes, rising inflation and cost increases pushed the tradesmen to the edge of the abyss as well as the citizens. What additional measures has the government taken to save our tradesmen and craftsmen, the backbone of the economy, from the crisis they have fallen into? Does it plan to impose a 25 percent limitation on rent increase rates as in residences? Will the interest rate of the loan be reduced to 4 percent as before?”
