After the prayer of the President of the Western Thrace Advisory Board and the Elected Mufti of Komotini, İbrahim Şerif made a short speech at the Kırmahalle Mosque in Komotini. Turkey‘s Consul General to Komotini Aykut Unal thanked the Western Thrace cognates for the aid collected for the earthquake victims.
Stating that he made frequent visits to the aid collection centers with the Consulate General’s employees, Ünal said, “You have rushed to help the earthquake victims and our country by pushing all means far beyond the estimations. Those who could not afford the materials gave their prayers. Allah bless you,” he said.
The event was attended by the Deputy Consul of Komotini, Barış Çulha, consulate employees, representatives of minority institutions and organizations, and many Western Thrace Turks.
