“ZONING AMENDMENTS SHOULD BE PROHIBITED”
Reconstruction policies and practices of cities should be reconstructed with a holistic and public understanding, with the participation of universities, professional organizations and relevant segments of society. Studies should be completed in accordance with scientific and technical principles. Zoning plans should be made again in accordance with scientific studies. The building production process should be started according to the new zoning plans. The settlements should not be moved before holistic studies are carried out and the current building stock situation is revealed. The privatized building inspection system and the building production process based on profit should be restructured with a public understanding. It is the primary duty of the state to protect the people from the destruction of nature and the inequality created by money. Safe and humane housing should be seen as a right for every citizen and the state should create social housing in line with its requirements. Disaster policies that do not produce any results other than being a spectator to new disasters and catastrophes and that leave the society in ruins should be changed. Zoning amnesties should be banned.”
