Following the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Kahramanmaraş and felt in a very wide area, a team of 9 people from Edirne Municipality set out to participate in search and rescue efforts.
The 7.4 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Kahramanmaraş caused destruction in a very wide area. A team of 9 people affiliated to the Edirne Municipality Fire Brigade Directorate, which completed its preparations right after the earthquake, set out with 2 vehicles, one of which was a crash vehicle.
“TOGETHER WE WILL BECOME OUR WOUNDS TOGETHER AND TOGETHER”
Stating that the teams will participate in search and rescue activities in the earthquake area, Edirne Mayor Recep Gürkan said, “The 7.4 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Kahramanmaraş and was felt in a very wide area burned our hearts. Unfortunately, there are many dead and injured. There are citizens waiting to be rescued under the rubble. Our prayers are with our citizens in the earthquake area. As Edirne, we will be with our citizens in these difficult days and we will heal our wounds together in unity and solidarity,” he said.
