Gurkan thanked those who supported the kermese and said:
“Our citizens wholeheartedly supported the aid campaign we started on the first day of the earthquake. We delivered the aid of our citizens, who brought what they had in their hands, in their palms, and most importantly, what was in their hearts, to the earthquake zone. The people of Edirne also welcomed our citizens who came here from the earthquake region, showed their warm hospitality. They never left them alone. “With the IMECE Store, we met all the needs of our 5,560 guests from the earthquake region, from clothing to food. We provided goods to our earthquake-stricken citizens who rented houses outside the IMECE Store, and we will continue to do so.”
