The campaign organized by the Saray Municipality to help the region after the big earthquake on 6 February reached a record turnout in 24 hours.
PEOPLE FLOUD TO ATATÜRK CULTURAL CENTER
Citizens who wanted to deliver their aid, especially blankets, unused clothes, boots, ready-made food, diapers, baby food, heater and hygiene materials to the earthquake victims, flocked to Saray Municipality Atatürk Cultural Center. The municipal staff working at Atatürk Cultural Center, which has been transformed into a disaster coordination center, sorted the aids and made them ready to move, regardless of the concept of overtime.
“WE REQUEST YOU NOT TO BRING SECOND HAND CLOTHES”
Arif Naci Öngören, Director of Culture and Social Affairs, who asked not to bring second-hand clothes, expressed that there was a need for dry food and canned food in particular. The donations made to the aid campaign are expected to be sent out today to reach those in need.
FEBRUARY CULTURE AND ART ACTIVITIES CANCELED
The donations of the citizens of the palace will continue to be accepted at the Atatürk Cultural Center throughout this week. All cultural and artistic events organized by the Saray Municipality in February have been cancelled.
